Here's what I did for the acid flush:
1) Remove the thermostat.
2) Observe mud and gunk and mutter several expletives
3) Purchase a 5 gallon bucket at Menards, along with a 1/2" ball valve,
1/2" hose, washers, etc. Also purchase 1 gallon of muratic acid.
4) Drill a hole in the side of the bucket towards the bottom, hook up
ball valve and hose to the bucket
5) Connect hose to intake of raw water pump ( i have since plumbed a
Y-valve arrangement)
6) Fill bucket with 4 gallons of water (important to put the water in first)
7) Pour 1/3 gallon muratic acid into the bucket.
8) Start Atomic bomb.
9) Open ball valve on bucket
10) Run the 5 gallons thru the cooling system.
11) Turn off engine
12) Let stand for 15 minutes. *drink a Blue Moon.
13) Fill bucket up with water (no acid this time) to flush.
14) Start engine and run until bucket is empty. watch crud come out.

15) Turn off engine
16) Throw a box of baking soda in with acidic water to neutralize
17) Drink another *Blue Moon
* = Only drink Blue Moon when Keeldragger Homebrew is not available!
